Chris doesn't just write about ponds, he is a Pond Keeper, as well. Chris says this pond is done "all wrong," but I'll be darned if I can see where! Actually, I know what Chris means by this. Some aspects of the design are based on old Japanese "low-tech" methods. Other parts of it run contrary to the "conventional wisdom."
Chris has never been one to blindly accept the "conventional wisdom." He questions it, researches it, and then puts it to the test. If it holds up, fine! If it doesn't, he tosses it out and comes up with his own way.
I'm sure from what you see here, you'll agree that it's hard to argue with success! I'll check with Chris and see if he will let me post a description of his design, including his "heresies."
